Frequently Asked Questions

1. What types of photography do you specialize in?

I offer story-driven sessions designed to document meaningful seasons of life. This includes family sessions, newborn sessions, individual portraits, and brand photography for small businesses. Keeping the offerings intentional allows me to serve each client with care and consistency. If you want photos that feel natural, warm, and timeless, I’ve got you covered!

2. Do you photograph engagement sessions?

Yes! Engagement and couple sessions are booked under The Full Story Session. These sessions focus on connection and narrative, making them a natural fit for couples at any stage of their relationship.

3. How do I know which session is right for me?

If you’re documenting a season of connection (whether that’s your family, your relationship, or a milestone), The Full Story Session is usually the best place to start. Newborn sessions are reserved specifically for babies in their earliest days, and brand sessions are designed for business owners looking for intentional, cohesive imagery. If you’re unsure, I’m always happy to help guide you.

4. What is included in my session?

Each session includes the time listed, professional editing, and a thoughtfully curated online gallery of high-resolution digital images. Image counts vary by session and are intentionally handpicked to reflect the strongest moments from your story.

5. How are images selected?

All galleries are carefully curated by the photographer. Image selection is part of the storytelling process and ensures your final gallery reflects the most meaningful moments, natural expressions, and cohesive flow of your session. This allows you to simply enjoy your images without the overwhelm of choosing.

6. Where do sessions take place?

Sessions can take place outdoors in natural light, in a studio, or in the comfort of your home. If you have a location in mind, let me know! If not, I’m happy to suggest a few spots that fit your session and style.

7. When should I book my session?

Most clients book 4–8 weeks in advance, with newborn and seasonal sessions booking earlier (ideally during your second trimester). Holiday Card Sessions are limited and tend to fill quickly. The Arrival Sessions are scheduled on-call around your due date, while The First Chapter Sessions typically take place within the first few weeks at home.

8. What if my baby arrives early or late?

That’s completely okay! The Arrival Sessions are flexible and scheduled on-call, and The First Chapter Sessions are adjusted as needed to accommodate your baby’s timeline.

9. Do you offer mini sessions year-round?

No. Shorter sessions, including The Short Story Sessions and The Holiday Card Sessions, are offered seasonally only. Full sessions are available year-round and provide the most relaxed and complete experience.

10. What should I wear?

Choose colors and outfits that make you feel confident and comfortable. I’m happy to provide styling guidance to help you choose outfits that photograph beautifully and feel true to you.

11. Do you travel?

Yes, within the DFW area. Travel beyond this area may be available for an additional fee.

12. When will I receive my images?

Galleries are typically delivered within 2–3 weeks. Newborn and brand sessions may require slightly additional time due to the level of detail involved.

13. Do you provide digital files, prints, or albums?

High-resolution digital images are included with your session. Print products and albums are not currently offered.

14. Can I bring props or pets?

Absolutely! Props and meaningful items are encouraged—they make your session uniquely yours. Please let me know in advance if you plan on bringing pets in order to ensure your selected location can accommodate them.

15. Do you require a deposit?

Yes, a 50% deposit is required to secure your session date. The remaining balance is due prior to the delivery of your images.

16. What happens if the weather doesn’t cooperate for outdoor sessions?

No worries at all! We can reschedule for a better day or move the session to an indoor location if needed.

17. Do you offer refunds?

Session fees are non-refundable but may be transferred to a future date if rescheduling is needed due to illness or unforeseen circumstances.
